After working closely with blind
manufacturers, Dowlings sewing machines have selected and supplied a range of
cost effective machines to raise the productivity and quality of the finished
product, all of which are illustrated below. If there is anything of interest,
please feel free to contact us. It costs nothing to ask.
Vertical
louvre blinds.
| The basic lockstitch from the Brother
range is more than adequate to cope with clear monofilament threads and the
range of materials commonly used in Vertical louvre blinds. Fitted with purpose
designed, simple to use, in house manufactured edge guide, the B755 provides a
clean and economical solution to the glue gun. |
|
The second machine comprises a semi automatic unit. After positioning
the louvre pocket in the start position, the machine inserts a locking tack to
start, sews across the blind to a point were the edge of the blind is detected,
automatically finishing by sewing a locking tack, trimming the thread, and
raising the presser foot for efficient removal of the finished product and
insertion of a new piece of work.

Auto Pocket Stitcher |
- Production increase due to lower operator handling times
- Uniformity of stitches and end tacks across the blind, greater
control of the stitching in relation to the edges of the material being
sewn.
- Adjustable edge guide ensures the line of stitching is always
parallel to the folded edge and a consistent pocket size is
maintained.
- Glue discolouration, a thing of the past, whites stay white.

Roller Blinds
Again two machines in this section,
both are of the walking feet variety, one a conventional straight stitch
machine the other a zigzag for a more decorative finish. With longer stitching
runs across the width of the blind, conventional machines may induce the top
ply to skew, ripple or pleat. Use of a walking foot machine will eliminate any
such effects, provide stable feeding of the material along with a more
consistent and aesthetically pleasing stitch.
| Walking feet to
prevent skewing or twisting, even on the most difficult materials |

Binding
| The last machine illustrated can be
used for edge binding on either scalloped edges on canvas or PVC, or as in the
example, wood weave blinds. Simple operation means increased output. Needle
feed, walking foot and dedicated vibrating binder means additional puller feed
systems are unnecessary. Superior vertical hook sewing mechanism reduces damage
to the hook caused by needle deflection, a facility not available on the
cheaper horizontal hook models. (Machines that have a separate removable bobbin
case) |
